As Liberia prepares for the dry season, the National Road Fund (NRF) has initiated extensive road inspection surveillance across the country, focusing on projects financed by the NRF. This proactive measure aligns with the NRF Act of 2016, which empowers the NRF to monitor and validate construction work before payments.
Leading the inspection efforts, Chief Engineering Officer Mr. Prince Nimrod and his team conducted a thorough evaluation of the rehabilitation project along the 44.5-kilometer Laterite Primary Road from Brewerville in Montserrado County to Gbaoe Town in Bomi County.
Geoskope Ltd., a fully Liberian-owned construction company, is undertaking the project, which involves both rehabilitation and ongoing maintenance. The inspection took place over two days, from November 14 to 15, 2024.
The contractor is actively continuing operations on site, having completed 50% of the rehabilitation work as of the inspection date. The project is overseen by Contractor Project Engineer Seth Quaye and Owner’s Engineer James K. Massaquoi, the Resident Engineer for the Ministry of Public Works in Grand Cape Mount County.
This inspection underscores the NRF’s commitment to ensuring the value for money and timely completion of road projects.
