Monrovia, Liberia – May 18, 2026 — The National Road Fund (NRF) of Liberia will tomorrow officially commence the 2nd Edition of its Professional Capacity Building Training, aimed at strengthening leadership, strategic management, and petroleum-sector governance in Liberia. The three-day masterclass, which runs from May 19–21, 2026 at the Learning Center in Paynesville Town Hall, is expected to convene professionals from government institutions, energy-linked entities, academia, and development stakeholders for intensive training focused on energy markets, institutional leadership, and strategic coordination.
The training is being organized in partnership with internationally respected experts Dr. Carol Dahl, a globally recognized energy economist and petroleum markets specialist, and Dr. Sheron Lawson, a renowned leadership and strategic management expert, both of the Colorado School of Mines. According to the National Road Fund, the training is intended to strengthen institutional and human capacity across energy-linked institutions while enhancing the management of petroleum-derived revenues that support Liberia infrastructure development, particularly road maintenance and rehabilitation programs financed through fuel levies.
The NRF noted that Liberia’s petroleum value chain remains a critical pillar of national economic transformation due to its direct contribution to public revenue generation and infrastructure financing. Through fuel levies, petroleum products continue to provide significant financial support to the National Road Fund and broader national development programs.
The institution emphasized that the upcoming training comes at a crucial time when Liberia continues efforts to improve governance systems, enhance accountability, and maximize the developmental impact of petroleum-related revenues.
“This training represents a strategic investment in Liberia’s institutional effectiveness and national development agenda,” the National Road Fund stated. “Strengthening leadership, management, and strategic coordination within energy-linked institutions is essential for ensuring sustainable infrastructure financing and effective resource governance.”
The training is being provided as a pro bono professional development contribution through the efforts of Mrs. Joseta Neufville-Wento, Manager of the National Road Fund and an alumna of the Colorado School of Mines, in support of Liberia’s broader development and institutional strengthening agenda.
