The Liberia Revenue Authority has successfully completed one day training for the Finance Department of the National Road Fund on the new Liberia Integrated Tax Administration system (LITAS)The comprehensive training, led by Josiah T. Farr Jr., Manager of Analysis, Assessment, and Accounting in the Government and Not-for-profit Division, focused on filing withholding returns. The emphasis was on the 1%, 2%, and 4% withholding on payments made by GOL agencies.

Implementation of the LITAS is a significant step toward streamlining and modernizing tax administration processes. By facilitating electronic registration and payment of withholding taxes, the NRF and LRA hope to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and openness of tax operations.
The training program covered several facets of the LITAS, including its features, functionalities, and procedures for electronic submission and payment. Staff members at NRF were provided with hands-on training and practical exercises to ensure a comprehensive comprehension of the system.

The NRF staff can now use the ITAS to electronically register and pay withholding taxes due to their newly acquired knowledge and skills. This will eliminate the need for manual processes, reducing the amount of documentation and administrative burden for both taxpayers and the NRF.
The successful completion of this training program signifies an important milestone in the ongoing endeavor to enhance tax administration in Liberia. The NRF and LRA are committed to leveraging technology to improve productivity, compliance, and revenue collection.

By implementing electronic filing and payment systems such as ITAS, the NRF and LRA are nurturing a business-friendly environment and promoting the accountability of tax administration.
